Establishment

Harrietville is a township located on the Ovens River, approximately 26km from Bright. A police station was formed at Harrietville in the Ovens District in 1873 (Victorian Police Gazette No.45, 11 November 1873, p.284). The Police Station operated, presumably continuously, until c1945.
