  • How to use the Records
    Select the register for the required period and scan the entries.

  • Function / Content
    This series comprises a register of shipping maintained at the Shipping Control Centre between 1 July 1966 and 31 March 1980. The Shipping Control Centre was officially opened in April 1966 at the Victoria Dockhead to regulate shipping movements.

    Entries were recorded in the register chronologically and comprised the following details:
    - date
    - vessel
    - in OR out
    - arrival and departure at heads, breakwater, Control Centre
    - berth
    - pilot
    - tugs
    - remarks.

  • Recordkeeping System
    The volumes in this series and the entries in each volume are arranged chronologically by date of ships arrival and departure.
