How to use the Records
These records are not available at Public Record Office Victoria and are available through the Geelong Heritage Centre, 51 Little Malop Street, Geelong.
These records have been serialised as part of the PROV Distributed Network Place of Deposit program. Geelong Heritage Centre has been approved as a Place of Deposit for permanent value records for the region under s14 of the Public Records Act 1973.
The Annual Reports are arranged in chronological order. The Reports of the Chief Engineer are arranged in chronological order.
Function / Content
This record series comprises Annual Reports of the organisation and Reports of the Chief Engineer The extant Annual Reports date from 1966 to 1984. The extant Reports of the Chief Engineer date from 1957 to 1982. The Reports of the Chief Engineer are as published in the Annual Reports. The period that they cover precedes in part the period covered by the extant Annual Reports. Therefore they have been appraised for permanent retention.
The title of Chief Engineer changed to that of Engineer in Chief during 1975-1976.
