Description of this SeriesDescription of this Series
  • How to use the Records
**Researchers please note: volumes 1 to 47 of the P0 consignment and unit 1 of consignment P3 (previously VPRS 10055/P0 unit 4) have being digitised and is now accessible online. P2 is a consignment which holds the digital representations of the original records. Browse or search the P2 consignment to view the digital images of the records.

If you want to find the entry for a specific individual, use the Search Within A Series option and type in a surname. Please note that this option does not require you to consult any indexes.

Please note that any references to histories obtained from the microfiche index to these registers or from Ancestry.com refers exclusively to the microfiche copy of the registers produced by the former Department of Heath and Community Services during the 1990s. The listing of the hardcopy volumes in the P0 consignment and of the online reprsentation in the P2 is the result of considerable research undertaken by PROV in the years after the publication of the microfiche and represents PROV's current understanding of these volumes as of October 2014.

The P3 consignment contains 1 volume, originally serialised as VPRS 10055/P0 unit 4. It was described in the microfiche index created by Australian Institue of Genealogical Studies (AIGS) as VPRS 10055/P0 unit 6.

Volumes in this series other than units 1-47 of the P0 consignment and the sole volume in the P3 consignment have not yet been indexed or digitised. Most of these volumes contain a name index that identities the child and the page number in the volume containing the history.
