    This series consists of the Master List of Licensed Premises issued by the Liquor Control Commission.

    The Master Lists are a permanent directory of all licensed premises, their location and the names of the relevant licensee(s) for a given period.

    The contents in custody provide information for the period ending 30 June 1978. The exact date of the start of this period in unknown, however it is by 1976.

    The volumes are self-indexing, a table of contents giving page number references appearing at the beginning of volume one. The List is divided into 13 sections which reflect the types of licenses issued. Each of these sections is arranged alphabetically. Hotel and Club licenses are listed alphabetically according to the hotel/club name. All other sections are arranged alphabetically according to location. Volume 3 contains loose leaf additional entries for all classifications noting changes which occurred immediately prior to or after the closure of the directory.

    The information was entered on detachable strips which were added or deleted as licenses were granted or revoked. This maintained the current status of the arrangement until closure of the list.
