    This series is comprised of the records of or relating to the fortnightly meetings and activities of the Melbourne and Metropolitan Board of Works from its first meeting on the 19 March 1891 until the end of the financial year 1913/1914. The volumes were in the possession of and accumulated by a member of the Board, Commissioner William H. Treganowan. The series is in a published format. A complete set of Notice Papers and Minutes is held by the Melbourne and Metropolitan Board of Works.

    This series passed out of custody when it was donated to the Williamstown City Library by Florence Emily Smith. The series was finally transferred into the custody of the Public Record Office by the City of Williamstown. Volume 9 of the series (1899-1900) was missing from the series when it was transferred in 1989.
