  • How to use the Records
    This series was created to register the conveyancing files of the Crown Solicitor's Office relating to land purchases by water supply authorities.

    This register has an alphabetical index at the front to enable access by name or file number. Entries in the register were made chronologically detailing the following: date of instrument, vendor(s), person to whom conveyed, nature of instrument: conveyance, surrender, feoffment or certificate of title, price, situation of land in County, Parish and Allotment and size in acres, roods and perches.

    The second volume in this series is also the first volume in the subsequent series Crown Purchases Register : Water Supply: II [RECORDS NOT TRANSFERRED] (VPRS 8328) as from 17 January 1921 the files controlled by this series began to be allocated a sequential registration number.
