Description of this SeriesDescription of this Series
  • How to use the Records
Consult the index to the files (VPRS 11066). The files are arranged in multiple number order based on the subject of the files.

Alternatively, refer to the consignment details page to browse file titles.

  • Function / Content
This series comprises general correspondence files, created and maintained by the Council. The files contain inward and copies of outward correspondence relating to all functions undertaken by the Council.

  • Recordkeeping System
The files were registered with a multiple number code based on a subject classification system and managed using the centralised recordkeeping system RECFIND.

Files continued to be registered and maintained by the Bass Coast Shire [VA 3671] until 2007 when the Council abolished this system.

In 2007 Bass Coast Shire [VA 3671] ceased to use RECFIND in favour of another recordkeeping system, TRIM.
