  • How to use the Records
    Consult VPRS 5371 Index to Appeals from the County Court to obtain the number allocated to a specific case.

    Consult the consignment details for the unit containing the file number range which includes that for which information is required.

  • Function / Content
    From the passing of the County Court (Amendments) Act 1854 there has been the right to appeal to the Supreme Court against a judgment given in the County Court.

    This series consists of the files of appeals made to the Supreme Court against judgments in the County Court. Files may contain a brief on behalf of the appellant(s), the Rule giving the Supreme Court judgment of the appeal, affidavits regarding the appeal, a statement of costs related to the appeal and a County Court plaint summons.

  • Recordkeeping System
    Files are arranged in consecutive number order. Numbers are those allocated for each case when the appeal was lodged at the Supreme Court.
