  • Function / Content
    A Certiorari Writ aims to remove judgments, orders or other proceedings of an inferior court, tribunal or Justice of the Peace in order to ensure a new trial or retrial if an error or an abuse has occurred. It can also be used to quash an inquest finding.

    This series consists of the files relating to applications for Certiorari Writs in the Supreme Court. Files may include copies of the original order etc., depositions and affidavits, Orders made by the Court, statements of Costs and a copy of the Writ of Certiorari and the Return of the Writ.
