  • How to use the Records
    This series consists of miscellaneous estray records of the Walhalla Public Cemetery Trust.

    The series includes:

    - correspondence, mostly inward, concerning the period 1899 to 1982
    - memoranda, printed and manuscript
    - proforma material
    - bank deposit book 1912 to 1915.

    There is no apparent system of arrangement or control, though the records are in a very rough chronological sequence.

    Provenience

    The records were donated to the La Trobe Library of Victoria in 1987 by a former Cemetery Trust Secretary, who had had the records in her possession over a number of years. They were accessioned to the La Trobe Manuscripts Collection as MS12253. On the realisation of their being public records they were proposed for transfer to the Public Record Office by the Manuscripts Librarian in 1990.
